History of Station 15
The bid phase for Station 15, to be located in Harris Ranch, was started in January, 2011. Construction started some time in late 2011 at the 3676 East Warm Springs location, which is a corner lot. The land was donated by the Harris family to serve the Harris Ranch area of the eastern part of Boise north of the Boise River. The new building hosts energy-efficient operations, with large exhaust ceiling fans, and heavy duty energy-saving appliances. Station 15 replaces Station 22, which was closed. The engine and brush rigs from Station 22 were re-numbered and put in the 3-bay facility. This building will also serve as the new training facility. The old facility, located on North Liberty Street and formerly Station 6 until the new Station 6 went into service, is now for sale.
