Station Location: 3240 Gowen Road
Station Call Letters: WPJW744
Units in Quarters: Engine 12, HazMat 12, and HazCom 12
Station 12 was built and completed in 1998 to satisfy the needs of the growing eastern edge of Boise. With the annexation of more property and the building of new homes, the need for another Boise station was realized.
The first engine to occupy the station was the 1979 Sutphen quint. In the same year as completion, the HazMat unit from Station 6 was moved to quarters at Station 12. In 2000, the city acquired a new Hackney Hazmat truck and trailer. The old HazMat unit was re-rigged and redesignated as Rescue 7 and moved to Station 7. Later in 2000, a new Dodge Ram pickup truck and trailer became the HazCom 12 unit, which features office space and communications for all hazardous materials calls.
