History of Station 10
Station 10 was built in 1994, opening for service with an open house to the public. This was a new construction and not a move of a former station.
Matching the same building construction design as Station 2 on Cartwright Road in the downtown area, the new station would service the westernmost part of Boise city
in the area of Hewlett-Packard. The first engine in the firehouse was a HME/3D 1500-gpm engine. For a very short period of time an older brush rig from the Whitney
fire district occupied the station, and was soon put out in back to make room for the Ada County Bomb Unit truck.
In October, 2004, the Ada County Paramedics stationed their Medic 28 unit in the bay the Ada County Bomb Unit had been in. Medic 28 continues to operate out
of this station.
In 2008, Station 10 took possession of their new BME/Spartan engine, which is the current engine. The logos on the doors of the apparatus were changed in 2011 to
a white Maltese cross with the Boise Fire Department logo at the top.
