Fire Station 14 originally was going to be a simple rebuilding in a new location of Station 21 under the Whitney Fire District name. The new station 21 was going to be located farther south on South Maple Grove Road. That project never got under way, as at that time negotiations were underway to put Whitney Fire under the jurisdiction and operation of Boise Fire Department, since the majority of the area was now annexed as part of Boise city.
Ground was broken in July, 2006, for the construction of Station 14 (see picture). The station opened in Summer of 2007.
For 2007:
Engine 14 responded to 1339 calls, ranking eighth in responses.
Brush 14 answered 63 calls.
Water Tender 14 responded to 164 calls.
Station 14, though was the fifth busiest station, with a total of 1566 calls for
the three apparatus.
